This can be caused by numerous things. This is rFactor 2 as you know. However, I will list a couple things that we have experienced and found solutions to.
AUTO BAN OR TIMEOUT:
User got auto banned on our server, and official servers timeout. Content could be used offline, but not online. Removing him from ban list did not work as it automatically put him back when he tried to join again.
Solution to this was to delete content in Cbash folder. This can be found in rfactor2/userdata/log.
Delete content and if possible, contact server admins on sites you joined to lift possible ban.
TIMEOUT or broken content.
Go to main menu in game, content, check local content and sort by “installed”. See if you have any red crosses. If so, highlight then, uninstall, delete. Try to join server again.
Alternativ is to go to rfactor2/bin64 and open modmgr. Make sure you have mod and components ticked ON in top left corner.
See bottom right corner, you have two adresses there, the top one should point to
steam/steamapps/common/rfactor2
The second should be
steam/steamapps/common/rfactor2/packages
Read this and make sure it is correct.
You can now click refresh in top right corner and sort by name, installed, version etc. Like any excel sheet.
If you find anything wrong here, delete it or ask further help.
